Since I've travelled to Rome, I've realised just how useful a kimono is, especially when you visit places wear you must dress respectfully (covering your shoulders and knees). It's great for covering up in a summer evening but it floaty enough to keep you cool during the day.
My favourite one is the black kimono as the pattern is slightly more versatile and classic. The only problem is that the lining is white, as pointed out on the Topshop website, which can make it look rather cheap.
The dark blue kimono has a much more oriental-influenced print, which is slightly more fussy but I think it would definitely brighten up any old outfit!
I'm currently trekking around the Yorkshire Dales with a really heavy back pack on as part of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition, so this post is scheduled but mainly because I forgot to upload this last Friday, aaand the Friday before that - oops!
