I know, I know - I'm getting soppy! I'll try and stop...
My 2012 New Year's Resolutions were:
I can happily say that I completed (some of) them:
#1 Passing my GCSEs - 2 years of hard work, that can come down to one or two exams that decide what grade you get on that dreaded day in August! however i can say that all the work was worth it. I felt that I made a mistake picking one of my subjects but I worked really hard and went from a D in my mock to an A! I was gobsmacked!! The only reason was I had a bit of an epiphany that just because it wasn't my favourite subject, the one that I wasn't good at, it didn't meant that I couldn't get a good grade. Even I managed to surprise myself, because I really thought I had failed, and the night before Results Day, I was praying for a C. So I guess it showed me that giving up isn't an option if you want to succeed, just try and try again! (And I thought I was going to stop being cheesy.)
#2 I know that getting fit is always on everyone's list but I really thought I would, and I even signed myself up for a 5K run - not a marathon but still a distance. If only investing in some core muscles was as easy as buying the exercise gear. Obviously I failed (please see 2013 NY's Resolution #3), my willingness to go for a run has diminished rapidly during the winter months due to my love of mince pies and roaring fires.
#3 But I finally dyed my hair purple, but I think plum is a more accurate description. I will post about it soon because I want to re-dye it again, I'm in love with Lily Collins' hair (as Clary Fray in the new movie, The City of Bones)!
#4 My organisational skills and concentration level seem to fluctuate depending on what's on the TV but I hope I have improved.
#5 Although blogging is one of my hobbies, I have found myself giving up a few others which I do regret but it has brought new ones.
#6 I didn't manage to improve my handwriting, which did need improving as you can see from the above photo.
#1 Get fit! This was probably last year's resolution as well but I need to stop being a couch potato and actually do exercise, instead of imagining myself running a half-marathon or something.
#2 Live more! This is linked to the fact that I'm too lazy and I need to step away from the computer and get my nose out of my book so that I will go and do something. I'm a lazy person, so I think I need to 'participate' more.
#3 Pass my A-Level exams - I think this is something I definitely have to do. Again, I need to put more effort into getting through that mound of homework (and background reading) because from the first day of Sixth Form, I've had so much work.
#4 Get a job and save money - I think I need a new mantra this year, something like 'Hannah, put down those shoes' because honestly, it's getting a bit out of hand.
That's it! Quite short and sweet.
I hope that you all have the most amazing 2013! That all your wishes come true and you make them come true! (Seriously, I need to stop being soo cheesy...)
